At the edge of the Oasis, there are many ruined temples at Karanis, the ancient city which was the old capital of the Middle Kingdom which is concentrated in El Fayoum. Complete the tour by visiting the Fayoum Museum, which is famous for its Roman portrait and small statues which were found by the excavations throughout history, then onto Wadi Al Rayan which is considered one of the best natural Oasis in Egypt, where you can enjoy cataracts by ridding a felucca around it or walking on and take unforgettable photos.
